Rugby & French Language Immersion (Tignes)
For the ultimate French & Rugby Language development experience join our team of International-level rugby coaches, highly trained sports professionals and motivated camp staff plus some of the best young rugby talent aged 10 to 17 years, male and female, from Europe and beyond in Tignes in July 2020. With the outstanding facilities in the UCPA Tignes and the resort itself especially the Olympic training facilities in Tignespace and Tignes Lagon, there will be plenty of fun, friendships and fantastic life experiences enjoyed during the course of the 14 day package.
Offering 15 hours of formal classroom-based lessons, our Rugby and French Language programme will offer international players the unique opportunity of training with players from around the world, while also developing their French oral & comprehension skills under the direction of a qualified French teacher.
We believe that our approach of combining rugby training, social, culture immersion with our structured language lessons, provides a high quality language-learning experience with lots of opportunities to develop the key communication elements of listening, reading, speaking and writing.
Included In The Price
We will provide transfers from and to Lyon (LYS) International Airport on both arrival and departure dates.
- ARRIVAL FLIGHT : Please ensure flight arrives at LYS between 13:00 – 16:00hrs
- DEPARTURE FLIGHT : Please ensure flight departs from LYS between 15:00 – 17:00hrs. Unfortunately, flights outside of these times or to/from a different airport will incur an additional cost.

Our players and staff stay at the high end UCPA Sports Hostel in Tignes, which offers modern, shared accommodation in en suite rooms of four. We always have separate quarters for boys and girls, with players roomed with friends or others of a similar age. If your player has any special requirements or would like to request to share with a friend, we will try to accommodate him or her based on this information being provided as part of or following your booking.
15 hours of formal French Language with a fully qualified teacher and a student-to-teacher ratio of no more than 10:1. Our tuition programme follows the rugby theme and focuses on giving players the language skills to get the most from their rugby development experience within our bilingual rugby programme.
PSA Academies is partnered with Endsleigh Insurance to provide important insurance cover for all players attending the PSA Rugby Academy Tignes. You will receive a full summary of insurance cover after booking, however in advance of this, please note that key benefits include:
- Cover for over 90 sports and activities included as standard (full details are available within policy documentation).
- Cover for cancellation and/or curtailment of the trip due to accident, illness or sickness.
- If a player is taken ill or has an accident, Endsleigh will pay emergency medical bills and hospital costs that are not covered by the National Health Service.
- Additional costs incurred to repatriate, if medically necessary.
- Reasonable costs to return home if a close relative is seriously ill.
- Reimbursement if luggage is lost, stolen or accidentally damaged.
- Endsleigh will help replace passports or visas, if they are lost or stolen.
- Money stolen, either from a player’s person or while locked away, will be replaced.
- If a player accidentally injures someone or damages their property, Endsleigh will cover legal liability.
- Advice and assistance to take legal action is covered.

Our bilingual programme staff are responsible for the pastoral care of all those players in our care and ensure that everyone is sleeping & eating well, engaging with all programme elements, making friends and having a great time. During free time, our players are able to explore the safe Tignes resort in groups, whilst being supervised by our professional staff.
Our exceptional coaching team, featuring Philippe Saint-Andrè, Johne Murphy and Simon Sinclair amongst others, come from a background at the peak of the professional game, bringing a wealth of knowledge in identifying, developing & mentoring elite level players in youth and senior rugby. Our PSA Rugby Academy Tignes high performance programme is player-led, with the players themselves (assisted by their mentors) setting the culture for each week by using their Player Journals to set and track their goals, objectives and work ons from their time in Tignes.
Following the completion of the high-performance Academy programme, each player will receive a detailed Player Development Report, containing test results and development comments across four core skills areas (Pass, Breakdown, Rucking & Tackle) plus physical conditioning. The report also looks at the player development holistically and as such, you will receive a written comment from the player’s group staff mentor, summarising their approach to the C.A.R.D.S. aspect of camp life.
Recovery is critical as part of the PSA Rugby Academy Tignes programme and the world class facilities at 2,100m offer some of the best recovery activities available anywhere in Europe, including;
