In the latest move to create fantastic ‘best in class’ development experiences for young Irish rugby players, partners PSA Academies and RugbyCamps.ie are delighted to announce a series of High Performance Charity Rugby Clinics in Ireland in April.
These clinics, being run in aid of charity partners UNICEF Ireland, will take place across Munster & Leinster venues for three consecutive weekends from Sunday 8th April. The first venue chosen is the University of Limerick Sports Ground and the high quality coaching team, led by PSA Academies head coaches Johan Taylor & ex-Munster player Johne Murphy, will deliver a half day programme including;
- Passing Core Skill Development
- Continuity / Offloading & Games
- Game Awareness
- Defence / Shadowman & Games
- Introduction to C.A.R.D.S High Performance Framework
The events are designed to introduce all attendees to the high performance philosophy and programme content available at the 2018 Rugby Academies later this year, including the Roscrea Rugby Academy 1-6 July, the Kilkenny Rugby Academy 12-17 August and the showcase Tignes Rugby Academy 7-28 July.
With €10 of the €25 ticket cost for each Clinic going directly towards funding UNICEF Ireland‘s important work on a range of key aid projects internationally, there will be a real charity focus for the events, with further fun fundraising activities on the day due to raise further monies for the great cause.
Speaking on the announcement of the events, ex-Munster player Johne Murphy looked ahead “We are really excited to be bringing our Charity Rugby Clinics on the road in Ireland, allowing players to attend in Limerick, Cork and Dublin to get a great taster of the rugby development activities we deliver in our residential camps. To be able to do this AND raise much needed funds for UNICEF Ireland, who’s patron is my old Munster team mate Donnacha O’Callaghan, is hugely positive. We look forward to seeing big crowds at each venue in the next few weeks.”
