Our MD Graham Ross & Operations Lead Cory Brown made the trip to Tignes from Tuesday 2nd to Thursday 4th May to deliver a key Tignes Rugby Academy Planning Trip for July’s programme.
The key focus of the trip was to check in on the newly refurbished UCPA Centre in Tignes, which is now one of the top sports youth hostels in the French market. The facilities at the centre are literally second to none, with fantastic shared rooms, large modern common room areas including Wifi, Pool & Fussball tables, a spacious dining facility serving a wide range of fresh food, hot and cold, high tech meeting rooms and secure storage rooms, all accessing out onto the grass and 3G pitches in Tignes Val Claret. The management team at UCPA are looking forward to welcoming the players, coaches and staff of PSA Academies in less than two months and all is set fair for a fantastic three weeks from 9th July.
As ever, visiting Tignes at the end of the winter season creates a sense of wonder that Tignes Developpment Director Philippe Perinet and his team can turn around the planning for the summer season in such a short timeframe but the plans are in place for a great summer programme in the resort. Visiting the fantastic pitches and seeing them covered in snow only two months before the Tignes Rugby Academy kick off may be surreal but it is a reminder of what a unique training venue Tignes represents.
With a number of Top 14 teams planning to pre-season there during the course of the Tignes Rugby Academy, the players signed up for the weekly programmes are set to have another fantastic high performance experience in the world class venue.
